You’re sidelining your goals and dreams for something that may give you instant satisfaction now. Whether that’s sitting on the couch watching tv, scrolling social media, or eating fast food. Usually, these things are easier than doing the hard work to achieve your goals. It requires less thought, effort, and time. The amount of output you have to give is less than actually doing the necessary, more difficult tasks to achieve your goals. But, this is taking the easy way out. It’s being lazy. It’s procrastinating. It’s putting off your goals and dreams for another day. However, your goals and dreams won’t wait forever. It’s time to get yourself into action. Learn how to be committed to taking action towards your goals so that you can make progress and achieve success!
Think about what you could do today that would help move you closer to achieving your goal. Perhaps that’s eating a healthy meal, getting a workout in, planning out your day, running some errands, etc. Start with something small you can do today. Maybe it’s simply not doing the things that are causing you to procrastinate. Choose one small positive change you make and take action on it. This one tiny change can snowball into more positive changes throughout the rest of your day, week, month, and entire life. Consider what are you are doing today that is either helping or hindering you from achieving your goals. Then, do more of the things that will help you achieve your goals and less of what isn’t. Decide to take those small positive action steps that will make the biggest impact on achieving your goals.
Next, you can choose to prioritize working on your goals or you can choose not to. It could be going out with friends or doing anything else besides working on your goals sound better than doing the tough tasks required to make progress towards your goal. You must stop making excuses for not having the time, money, or resources to work towards your goal. If you want something bad enough in life you’ll find a way to make it happen. You’ll carve out non negotiable time in your schedule that is solely dedicated to working on your goals. You’ll commit to doing one thing every day to make progress towards your goals. You’ll even complete this task first thing in the morning so that you don’t get to the end of the day defeated that another day went by without any progress. Make working towards your goal a non-negotiable priority each day.
Lastly, progress isn’t always something that you can easily see. Sometimes it’s just staying committed to doing one thing each day to achieve your goal. Each step builds upon the other and eventually you’ll see the scale move, loser clothes, have more energy, more money in the bank, etc. Manage your expectations because seeing the progress and reaching the deadline you set to achieve your goal isn’t always going to happen on your timeline. Instead, you need to stay committed to achieving your goal and keep taking action, even when you don’t see the results as quickly as you’d like. Make it a game to not break the chain and every day do something to move you closer to achieving your goal. Don’t give up so quickly. Stay committed to your goals, dreams, and yourself because eventually you will achieve success.
Goals do not get magically achieved on their own. It requires hard work and perseverance. Life is going to constantly throw curve balls your way. There will always be challenges and obstacles that get in the way. You’re going to be tempted to throw in the towel and give up on your goals. But, you can’t do that.
