The decisions and actions you take determine your future. You are in control of your life as far as the thoughts, beliefs, and actions you take. These will all determine the outcome of your life.
Think of it this way, you are the captain of your ship. You can steer it any which way you would like. But first you must acknowledge that you are behind the wheel and in control.
Your response to a situation is something that you are in control of. You can choose to respond with negativity to a situation or take responsibility for the outcome. Perhaps the decision you made didn’t turn out the way you had hoped. Instead of consuming yourself with negativity you can use it as a life lesson.
Life lessons are important to learn so you’ll improve and do better next time. Look at these lessons and take responsibility to recognize where you went wrong. But also, don’t forget to celebrate what you did right.
Be intuitive of your thoughts and feelings. Notice if you’re beating yourself up over making a wrong decision. If you are, immediately stop. Putting yourself down will not get you far. It only breeds more negativity.
When something doesn’t go the way you had planned, you can easily start placing blame on other people. Believing it was their fault for the way things turned out. But, when you take a step back and look at the situation with a clear mind, you can usually find that you had some part in the outcome. You were a part of the decisions that caused this result.
Poor decisions usually come from lack of planning or failing to think things all the way through. Often life gets busy and you become distracted with other things. This is when work gets delegated to other people. If the work doesn’t get completed the way you would have liked, you can quickly place blame on someone else. However, you must take responsibility in these situations and own up to the fact that delegating the work was your decision. You can’t do it all yourself but you can take responsibility for your role in the situation.
Even though you can’t be everywhere at once, if something is truly that important to you, you will make it a priority. You make the time and focus all your efforts on seeing it through to make it happen. No one else is left to blame. You must take responsibility for your actions.
However, it can be so easy to place blame on other people. Playing the blame game will only feed your negativity. It strengthens your belief that other people are in control of your life and have decided your outcome. When this happens, you have given away your power to other people. Instead take responsibility of your life. You are in control of your thoughts, feelings, and response to the situation.
Start taking responsibility by coming from a place of positivity. When things don’t go your way, take each lesson with grace and own up to your role in the outcome. Do not let one hiccup cause you to place blame on someone else. Take responsibility, learn, and keep moving forward.
Remember, you are the captain of your ship. You are in control. Take responsibility and acknowledge what you can improve for next time. Make those adjustments and keep moving forward with a positive mindset. Your future is determined by the decisions and actions you take. Take responsibility of your life and create the life of your dreams.
