Look For The Rainbows In Life

Apr 03, 2025

Rainbows form when you see sunlight on rain drops.  It means the storm is coming to an end.  The dark clouds are parting and the sun is finally coming out.  Seeing a rainbow is often associated with hope, good fortune, new beginnings, and positive change.  You want life to be all sunshine and rainbows.  However, life can be challenging and you will face many struggles.  You’re going to have to weather some tough storms.  But, that’s why you need to look for the rainbows in life.

Dark Clouds

Just like in life, you’ll experience some dark clouds and then the sun will shine through.  Seeing a rainbow means the storm is clearing.  You’re through the worst of it and you can see the brightness on other side.  Seeing a rainbow makes you breathe in a sigh of relief that good things are to come.  You can feel that sense of hope and optimism for better things in the future.  Yet, not all dark clouds are a bad thing.

Lessons

You’re going to be forced to go through some difficult times in your life.  These are the dark cloud moments without any sunshine in sight.  Often, you’ll wonder why.  Why you and why now.  Why can’t it just be easy?  Because it’s not meant to be.  Life is trying to teach you something.  You need to go through this struggle in order to learn a lesson.  Pay attention and see if you can identify the lessons in life.  Maybe that’s a lesson in love, patience, inner strength, self belief, etc.  Don’t just brush the struggle off without first reflecting over what took place.  There is something you’re meant to learn from the struggle.

Challenge Reasons

Each struggle presents a new challenge to overcome.  Think about who you’ve become by going through a challenging time.  It’s made you stronger, wiser, smarter, etc.  Maybe you went through a particular challenge to help someone else go through something similar in the future.  You won’t know for sure but you certainly can’t just ignore it.  Challenges come up in your life for a reason.  Sometimes it’s not easy to see or understand in the moment.  But, it’s still important to recognize the meaning or significance of this challenge in your life.

Testing Your Strength

Challenges are often meant to test you.  Perhaps that’s testing your patience, will power, or even to see if you learned a previous lesson.  It’s a way to see how you react and respond in that moment.  Life is constantly testing you.  It wants to see what you’re made of.  But, life won’t throw anything at you that you cannot handle.  You can do difficult things.  Pull from your inner strength, the previous times you’ve made it through a tough situation, and believe in yourself that you’ll be able to figure this out too.  You’re so much stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Rainbows

After the dark clouds, struggles, and challenges you’ll see the rainbows.  Maybe even more than one rainbow.  Be thankful for each one because it’s teaching you something.  It’s helping you to grow as a person.  It’s helping you to become better than you were yesterday.  You are so much braver and smarter than you realize.  Do not shy away from the struggles and challenges in life because when the dark clouds begin to clear, a rainbow is waiting for you.

Reflection

Think about what it means to you when you see a rainbow.  It could be a sign of hope, better things to come, etc.  In any case, you should celebrate and pat yourself on the back that you’ve made it through a tough time.  You’ve learned and grown a lot along the way.  Pause and take stock of what happened and where you are.  Be proud of yourself for making it this far.  When you see a rainbow, use it as a time of reflection over just how far you’ve come in life.  The truth is, you’re going to experience a lot of rainbows in your lifetime.

Sunny skies won’t always be there.  Your daily weather forecast is constantly and forever changing.  However, you can look for the rainbows in life.  The brightness that comes out after the darkest of clouds.  Life will have its struggles and challenges, but it will also have plenty of rainbows.  When you see a rainbow, use it as a moment to catch your breath, reflect on what you’ve learned and who you’ve become in the process after weathering a difficult storm.  Find those brighter moments in life by looking for the rainbows.
